Can I Haz Desserts?

I am blessed to say that the people in my life feed me and they feed me well. But that's also a reason why I can't lose weight =P My family, my boyfriend, my friends, my boyfriend's family. It's a lovely cycle of food. Last week, my lovely friend Megan made desserts all week... Oh I was in heaven! She made flan TWICE, fruit tarts, AND crème brûlée! For the fruit tarts, she got the recipe online and it was the recipe for the fruit tarts at La Madeleine. I can honestly say, it was pretty darn close to La Madeleine's. I could barely taste the difference. She has a talent for making delicious desserts. I am so lucky! =)

Belated Food Photo Friday - Belated Birthday!

So I turned 22 on Monday =) A few of my other friends are June babies too (one 3 days apart from mine) so we all went to Main Event for some drinks and we were hoping to get in on the Monday Madness ($10 for rock climbing, laser tag, and bowling).. Sadly we were a little too buzzed/tipsy to play anything lol. We still managed to have fun, though! The next day my parents took me out to eat Joe's Crab Shack (good choice thanks to my parents!) Woo.. I always have a good time with my parents and hubby.

 Hello crabby mess!

 So the funny story is they turned me into a seagull and made me run around the restaurant while they sang happy birthday to me and if I stopped then they would've made me do it all over again. Lets just say I agreed because I didn't want to do it twice and.... I was a little buzzed haha. My parents kept saying "I can't believe you did that!!!" And my mom goes "it was the alcohol!!!!" Haha

My TRAN-PHAMily <3 I love them. They gave me the best birthday I could ever ask for. And I say that every year because they make it better and better.

A Bit Overdue.. A LOT Overdue!

I truly commend my friends who work full time, have careers, have families, husbands/wives/boyfriends/girlfriends, etc. I commend you for all the hard work you put into your delightful and tasty blogs and how you're able to post every week (even more than once a week!) I do not know where to time went. It flew right past me in the last two weeks. I started a new job at Pho Saigon (5 days a week!) and summer school started. I haven't been able to put any posts in. In addition to my job and school, we got a new addition to our family... A new pup named Silvia. Many of you have seen my many, many photos of her on Facebook and Twitter. =)

I won a gift certificate to FRANK (Hot Dogs Cold Beer) while calling into the Bobby Bones Show. Little did I know it was about to expire. I desperately asked my hubs if he would go with me. Dreadfully, he agreed. So we went last Sunday. This was our second trip to Frank and I think our best trip so far!

I also had a Groupon (I love great deals as you can see!) to Lucky J's Chicken & Waffles. Jonhnny and I were trying to go Friday night, but they had closed early. So we tried again on Saturday and this time with our friends. The Groupon was for the "Shotcaller" deal; 12 pieces of fried chicken and 6 waffles. So it was 4 of us with all of this food.

I really enjoyed that the chicken and waffles were made to order, although that made for a long wait. The chicken was very moist and had tons of flavor. Sadly, the skin was really tough and it was hard to chew. Nevertheless, the food was delicious. I love how soft and yummy the waffles were. They were totally melt in your mouth delicious! I've never had chicken and waffles before and I'm glad my first time was @ Lucky J's!
